WDC is short for Ward Development Committee. These committees are the grass root link between the communities and the Local Authorities, they are formed in each ward through an electoral process in which residents of each particular ward select representatives among themselves to pick community leaders who will represent them in the handling of the affairs of community development. To learn more click here.

The WDC is a nonpartisan committee with the sole purpose of steering the developmental agenda at the grassroots and closer to the community. Members are elected into office through an elective process overseen by the Local Authority. Details of eligibility and functions are listed here.
